The Police Prosecutor handling the murder case of investigative journalist, Ahmed Suale has noted to the Madina District Court that the prosecution is still awaiting the advice of the Attorney-General on the progress of the case.
Daniel Owusu Koranteng, an investigative journalist, has been charged with abetment of crime and murder in connection with the death of Ahmed Suale.
Prosecution alleges that he led two other alleged culprits currently at large to the home of Ahmed Suale, where he was eventually shot and killed by unknown assailants.
He has, however, pleaded not guilty and is on a GHC50,000 bail.
n court on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 Chief Inspector Nana Afua Bamfoa Bamfo informed the court that the prosecution was yet to hear from the Attorney-General after forwarding the docket.
Presiding Judge Susan Nyarkotey then adjourned proceedings to August 2 and ordered that the prosecution secure the Attorney-General’s report and file the Bill of Indictment at the next hearing.
Per the brief facts of the case, tensions escalated in June 2018 when former Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong broadcasted images of Ahmed Suale on Net2 TV, calling for retribution against the investigative journalist.
The prosecution narrated that after probing, Ahmed Suale later identified Daniel as the one who provided Ken Agyapong with his photographs and confronted him through a WhatsApp chat.
