Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has cautioned teacher promotion applicants against paying money to individuals claiming they can facilitate or influence the promotion process.
The warning follows reports that some persons are allegedly demanding GH¢210 from applicants under the pretext of assisting them with their promotion applications.
In a statement, the GES emphasized that the teacher promotion process is conducted in a fair, transparent and merit-based manner and does not require any payment from applicants.
Management stressed that the entire promotion exercise is free of charge and urged teachers to disregard any requests for money from individuals purporting to offer assistance or special access within the process.
The Service further advised applicants not to engage with such persons or make any payments, noting that no individual has been authorized to collect fees on behalf of the GES for promotions.
GES encouraged all applicants to rely solely on official procedures and guidelines communicated through its approved channels to avoid falling victim to fraud.
Management reiterated its commitment to maintaining the integrity and transparency of the promotion process and urged teachers to report any suspicious activities related to the exercise to the appropriate authorities.
