The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of three suspects in connection with the kidnap and murder of 33‑year‑old Nana Yaw Kyere, who was reported missing on September 22 after leaving his Kokomlemle residence.
According to the Public Affairs Directorate, investigations revealed that the victim was lured to the residence of suspect Philip Dzifa Kofi Tefe, where he was attacked and later died. His body was allegedly transported in a Kia Morning vehicle and set ablaze at a mortuary on September 20. Family members identified the remains at the Police Hospital morgue on September 24.
The suspects named are Philip Dzifa Kofi Tefe, Sarah Osei Adams, and Josiah Obodai. Police reports indicate that Tefe sold the victim’s iPhone 12 for GHS100.00 to Sunday Omeje, who has since been detained for dishonestly receiving stolen property. Obodai is being investigated for his role in disposing of the body, while the Kia Morning vehicle has been impounded.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Richmond Mensah, Staff Officer at Public Affairs, stated that the three suspects are currently in custody and will be put before court as investigations continue to identify and arrest other accomplices.
The Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing justice and urged the public to support ongoing investigations with credible information.
