The Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon. Mahama Ayariga, has visited the Kejetia Market Phase II and Krofrom Market projects as part of efforts to accelerate completion of the long‑delayed facilities.
Accompanied by the Mayor of Kumasi, Hon. Richard Kwasi Ofori Boadi Agyemang, Apagyahene Oheneba Owusu Afriyie IV, and senior officials of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), the Minister toured the sites to assess their current state and explore practical measures to resume stalled works.
The inspection forms part of government’s broader initiative to address challenges surrounding key urban infrastructure projects and ensure that market facilities are completed to serve traders and residents.
Hon. Ayariga emphasized that the completion of the projects is critical to revitalizing Kumasi’s commercial hub, enhancing livelihoods, and improving the city’s economic competitiveness. He assured stakeholders that the Ministry, in collaboration with the KMA and traditional authorities, is committed to finding solutions that will bring the projects to fruition.
The visit underscores government’s determination to deliver on its development agenda by prioritizing projects that directly impact communities and strengthen local economies.
