President John Dramani Mahama today begins a two‑day #ResettingGhana Tour of the Upper East Region, reaffirming his commitment to citizen engagement and accountable governance.
The visit underscores the President’s pledge to lead an inclusive, participatory administration that listens to citizens, addresses their concerns, and ensures transparency in government.
On Thursday, the President will inspect the Bolgatanga Airport project site, a key initiative to boost regional commerce and connectivity. He will also review progress on the Chuchuliga–Sandema road, part of the flagship Big Push infrastructure programme.
Fulfilling his promise to complete abandoned public investments, President Mahama will commission the Community Day Senior High School (‘E’ Block) at Paga, which had remained unfinished since 2016 despite repeated appeals from residents. At the Zuarungu Health Centre, he will host an educational durbar to brief citizens on the rollout of the Free Primary Health Care programme.
On Friday, the President will inspect construction of a four‑storey laboratory complex at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) in Navrongo, aimed at strengthening STEM education in the region. He will also break ground for the Tongo–Shega–Pelungu road project.
The tour will conclude with a #ResettingGhana Citizens Engagement in Bolgatanga, where President Mahama will meet chiefs, religious leaders, youth groups, opinion leaders, and residents from all 15 districts. The session will provide updates on government policies, administrative reforms, and ongoing development projects, while offering citizens an open platform to ask questions, provide feedback, and contribute to policy development.
Observers say the engagements highlight the administration’s emphasis on collaboration between leadership and the public, reinforcing accountability as a cornerstone of national progress.
