President John Dramani Mahama has approved a major reorganisation of the National Security Council Secretariat, with new appointments and reassignments taking immediate effect.
The changes, announced by the Presidency Communications Directorate, are aimed at strengthening operations, intelligence, and human security functions within the Secretariat.
Under the reorganisation:
- Major (Rtd.) General William Ayamdo, former Chief of Army Staff, has been appointed Deputy National Security Coordinator (Operations).
- Mr. Yaw Donkor, former National Security Coordinator, assumes the role of Director of Intelligence and Research at the Office of the National Security Advisor.
- Mr. Adamu Saaka has been named Director of Logistics and Transport.
- Ms. Faustina Effah‑Boadi takes charge of the Human Security Department.
- DCOP (Rtd.) Peter Ndekugri has been appointed Officer in Charge of the Special Investigations Unit.
- ACP Alhassan Osman has been reassigned to the Ghana Police Service for further deployment.
The statement, signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, MP, Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications, emphasized that the appointments form part of government’s ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency and responsiveness of the national security architecture.
