The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu‑Adjare, has commended Focus Electronic Company Limited for its contribution to job creation, workers’ welfare and the production of quality Made‑in‑Ghana products.
During a visit to the company on Monday, August 10, 2026, Hon. Ofosu‑Adjare inspected operations and engaged with management and workers. She expressed satisfaction with the working environment, particularly the conditions provided for the firm’s predominantly female workforce.
The Minister noted that the factory was clean, airy and conducive for work, with hostel accommodation and lunch provided for workers. She further praised management for ensuring employees do not bear the cost of electricity and water bills.
“I like it when I go to industry and I see that women are sitting down and working because then immediately it comes to my mind that you can be pregnant and still work here,” she remarked, underscoring the importance of creating workplaces where women can work comfortably and with dignity.
Focus Electronic currently employs more than 500 people, a feat the Minister described as commendable. She urged management to expand operations to create additional jobs, stressing the importance of maintaining high standards in the production of Made‑in‑Ghana goods.
Hon. Ofosu‑Adjare also highlighted the role of the Minister’s Clinic 2026, an initiative that allows industries to raise challenges directly with her office. A key issue addressed during the visit was electricity supply, which was promptly resolved following intervention by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
“I want to thank ECG for the prompt response to our call. From what I have gathered, they are working closely with the factory and that is the way to go,” she said.
She emphasized that the swift resolution demonstrated the importance of collaboration between government institutions and the private sector in addressing operational challenges.
The Minister assured Focus Electronic of continued support, noting that the company’s enabling environment for workers and contribution to employment creation aligns with Ghana’s industrial development agenda.
Managing Director Mr. Andy expressed gratitude for the Minister’s visit and pledged that the company would continue to play its part in advancing Ghana’s manufacturing sector.
