The Director-General of Prisons, Mrs. Patience Baffoe-Bonnie (Esq.), has donated a drone to the Ashanti Regional Public Relations Unit to strengthen its communication, documentation, and media coverage capabilities.
The donation, made through the Ashanti Regional Commander, DDP James B. Mwinyelle (Ing.), forms part of ongoing efforts to equip Public Relations personnel with modern technological tools to effectively project the image and activities of the Ghana Prisons Service.
Receiving the equipment on behalf of the unit, Deputy Public Relations Officer for the Ashanti Region, Superintendent Diana Ataa Danso, described the gesture as timely and strategic. She noted that the drone would significantly improve the unit’s ability to capture aerial footage, document institutional programmes, and produce high-quality visual content.
According to her, the equipment will enhance storytelling and support efforts to showcase the achievements and operations of the Service in a more professional and compelling manner.
Presenting the drone, DDP Mwinyelle commended the Director-General for her continued investment in improving operational effectiveness and reaffirmed the Region’s commitment to advancing the objectives of the Think Prisons 360 Degrees rebranding initiative.
The initiative seeks to modernize the image of the Ghana Prisons Service while promoting transparency, innovation, and professionalism in its operations.
