Police Arrest Two More Suspects in Adabraka Jewellery Robbery

The Ghana Police Service has arrested two additional suspects in connection with the robbery of a jewellery shop at Adabraka in Accra.

The arrests were carried out on 7th January 2026 by the Office of the Special Operations Assistant to the Inspector-General of Police, following intelligence-led operations at Ashaiman.

The suspects, Hamza Agerego, also known as Nene Bawku or Lambert, and Alhassan Elliasu, also known as Arab Man, were picked up from their hideouts. Agerego had earlier been detained at the Katamanso District Police Headquarters in relation to the case, while further intelligence led to the arrest of Elliasu.

A search of the premises uncovered a cache of weapons and items including:

  • Two pump-action guns
  • Forty-three (43) rounds of AK47 ammunition
  • Two hundred and thirty-nine (239) BB cartridges
  • Four bulletproof vests
  • One black boot and one black face mask
  • Two cutlasses
  • Two Samsung mobile phones and one iPhone 13
  • A wristwatch and a CCTV monitor

Police say the suspects are currently in custody assisting investigations and will be arraigned to face the full rigours of the law.

The Service has reaffirmed its commitment to intensify operations against violent crime and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice.
