Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has disclosed that Ghana’s ten most visited tourist attractions together recorded 1,377,588 visitors in 2025, representing approximately 77 per cent of all domestic tourism site visits.
Speaking at the Government Accountability Series on Monday, the Minister outlined key developments in the sector, noting that the figures highlight the central role of flagship sites in driving domestic tourism.
The attractions include the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, Kakum National Park, Bonsu Arboretum/Eco Park, Cape Coast Castle, Manhyia Palace, Kumasi Zoo, Accra Zoo, Elmina Castle, Shai Hills Resource Reserve, and Aburi Botanical Gardens.
Hon. Gomashie emphasized that the strong visitor numbers reflect growing interest in Ghana’s cultural heritage and natural attractions, while underscoring the government’s commitment to strengthening tourism infrastructure and promoting domestic travel.
