A group of newly posted teachers from the 2022 batch of College of Education graduates are set to picket at the Ghana Education Service headquarters today, to protest the delayed issuance of staff IDs and the non-payment of salaries for the past ten months.
The affected teachers numbering 784 say they have not been paid since their appointment on August 1, 2024, despite repeated follow-ups and assurances from GES officials.
A member of the Association, Solomon Opoku Gyan who spoke to the media described the situation as dire, citing financial hardship and a lack of transparency from the Service.
The teachers are demanding swift action from GES to resolve the delays and regularize their employment status.
