Ghana Armed Forces Helicopter Reportedly Crashes, Ministers Believed to Be On Board

A Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) helicopter has reportedly crashed after going missing earlier today, with unconfirmed reports suggesting that some Ministers may have been on board. The aircraft, identified as a Z9 helicopter, took off from Accra at 9:12 am and was en route to Obuasi when it lost contact with air traffic control.

In a press release issued by the Ghana Armed Forces and signed by Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin, Acting Director General of Public Relations, the military confirmed that the helicopter went off the radar shortly after departure. All efforts to establish contact with the crew and passengers have so far been unsuccessful.

The helicopter was carrying a total of eight people, three crew members and five passengers. Although the identities of those on board have not been officially disclosed, sources indicate that some high-profile government officials were among the passengers.

Emergency search and rescue operations are currently underway as military teams and national security agencies work to locate the crash site.
