The Minister for Finance, Hon. Cassiel Ato Forson, has held a high-level meeting with the President of the World Bank Group, Mr. Ajay Banga, aimed at strengthening collaboration and accelerating Ghana’s development trajectory.
The discussions focused on both ongoing World Bank–supported projects and new initiatives designed to fast-track Ghana’s economic transformation. The two leaders identified five strategic sectors where enhanced support would yield the greatest impact: education, health, energy, roads, and agriculture.
Hon. Ato Forson was accompanied by the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Johnson Asiama, and Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States, H.E. Victor Smith. The delegation underscored Ghana’s commitment to forging robust partnerships that deliver tangible benefits to citizens and promote inclusive, sustainable development.
The Finance Minister expressed appreciation for the World Bank’s continued support and reaffirmed Ghana’s readiness to work closely with the institution to unlock new opportunities for growth. The meeting concluded with a shared vision to deepen cooperation and drive progress across key sectors of the Ghanaian economy.
